How to get to the Sistine Chapel by bus or tram?

The fastest line that allows you to reach the Sistine Chapel is the 49 which stops in front of the Vatican Museums.
Numerous other lines stop near the Museums: lines 32, 81 and 982 terminate in Piazza Risorgimento (a 5-minute walk); with lines 492 or 990 get off at Via Leone IV / Via degli Scipioni (5 minutes on foot).
If you prefer to use the tram, number 19 ends in Piazza Risorgimento.

It is not recommended to use the car to reach the Sistine Chapel to avoid the chaotic city traffic. In any case, there are private and paid parking lots near the Vatican Museums in Viale Vaticano and in the neighboring streets.
